That is the goal for Let’s Eat in 2026. We will rescue enough food to deliver 1 million meals to the food insecure population of Greater Baltimore. Help us do that. Send your tax deductible gift today

In Maryland there are 42,489 registered nonprofits with Baltimore City home to 6,645 organizations. At Let’s Eat we have never received any Maryland taxpayer money. All of our Revenue comes from private donations, special events and corporate grants. Virtually every dollar received goes to support those food insecure persons in Greater Baltimore. Trust Let’s Eat to do the right thing with your gifts and donations.

Last year Let’s Eat rescued about one million pounds of food and supplies. All were donated. An industry accepted way of calculating meals created from rescue is that 1.2 pounds creates one meal. By those measurements last year Let’s Eat served about 800,000 meals to those in need in Greater Baltimore.

Mary Shaw has been named VP of Development at Let’s Eat. Mary will head up our nonprofit’s grant division. Mary comes to Let’s Eat with a lengthy track record of business successes. Much of her career has been spent in the Washington DC market. The New York native currently resides in Baltimore. Several area public schools are planning food drives to contribute to our food inventory this semester. What a great opportunity for team building at your school with students, parents and faculty participating. Some of our greatest learning takes place outside of the classroom. On this Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday what better way to give tribute than to live his words, “Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.”

The Let’s Eat team is celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who still inspires us today.

This week the Let’s Eat website hotshots will install an app which will allow you to purchase your tickets to our huge fundraiser in March Details: March 23, 2026 from 6pm to 9pm Cured 18th & 21st in Columbia Price $175 per ticket Ticket includes heavy appetizers, beer, wine and mixed drinks and entertainment. 100% of the proceeds will go to support the work of Let’s Eat in Greater Baltimore. Let’s Eat participated in the United Way of Central Maryland's service day in memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. The Center provided a wonderful selection of high quality meats, eggs , produce and everyday goods needed by families. Here’s a special shoutout to Sheila Scollan who jumped right in and made the event run smoothly. In addition to cash donations Let’s Eat also accepts gifts in kind. Just recently a generous donor gave Let’s Eat a used automobile which was given to an elderly volunteer who needed transportation for medical visits etc. If you or your company no longer needs trucks, vans, storage shelves etc please reach out to us and this way we may be able to help each other. The First Annual Let’s Eat Gala is being held on March 23rd at Cured 18th & 21st restaurant in Columbia, Maryland. This is our largest fundraiser in our 7 years of existence. Tickets are $175 each and 100% of the revenue goes to those thousands of food insecure families that we serve in Greater Baltimore. All of you who follow Let’s Eat know that in 2025 we rescued one million pounds of food which helped several hundred thousands of food insecure persons in Greater Baltimore.
