The stock market surged in 2025

Normally when the US stock market surges as it has in 2025, there is a significant uptick in donations to nonprofits. If you hold equities which had a banner year please share some of your gains with Let’s Eat. It’s easy to donate and your gift is tax deductible.

It’s because of days like today

Winter is here. Today is cold, rainy, nasty and wet. Yet, the Let’s Eat crew has been out since 5am rescuing food to be given to some of Baltimore’s most impoverished families. Catherine and her team brave the raw conditions so that some Baltimore City kid will have dinner tonight. It’s Giving Tuesday please give what you can to support a very worthwhile cause.

Giving Tuesday

We know that you have many worthy organizations to donate to. We hope that you consider giving to Let’s Eat tomorrow. We feed hundreds of thousands of folks in Greater Baltimore each year and we are a completely volunteer organization who never charges any person or family a dime for our food donation. Thank you.

Turkey prices

The American Farm Bureau reported that turkey prices are about the same as they were in 2024. This, in spite of, the US turkey population being at the lowest level since 1985 due to the Bird Flu. There won’t be much of an impact for Let’s Eat. We are right on schedule to provide turkeys to 500 Baltimore families this Thanksgiving.

Much more than a mobile food pantry

At our core Let’s Eat rescues food then redistributes it to those who go hungry in Greater Baltimore. Sometimes we need to help in a family emergency, as we did today. A family with 5 young children and a single mom were without electricity for 6 straight days. Let’s Eat paid the arrearages and we hope this family is able to get some permanent relief from government sources. But today Let’s Eat was a lifesaver to one Baltimore family.
