In his book Homo Deus, A Brief History of tomorrow, author Yuval Noah Harari says “In 2014 more than 2.1 billion people were overweight, compared to 850 million who suffered from malnutrition nutrition. Half of humankind is expected to be overweight by 2030. In Greater Baltimore we face the exact same situation. There is plenty of food insecurity in our community and sadly much of the population choose foods which contribute to obesity and diabetes. At Let’s Eat we continue to educate families and children on the healthiest food choices, but many times we fall short on changing attitudes. Education is the key. In 2027 we plan to offer more ways to eat healthier foods to those we serve.
